Today seems like all business with lots of adoption work on our plate…

This morning I began working on the application adoption grant of sorts from The Abba Fund for the adoption. I’m telling you, I didn’t have to divulge so much financial information when we bought our house! We had to list all of our assets, all of our expenses, our monthly budget. We need three different people to fill out references as to our parenting skills and financial responsibility. I guess giving money away should be taken seriously. I’m sure people take advantage of the system.

What’s crazy is that for this particular grant, we actually to write out our theological position on Creation, Fall, and Redemption! Again, not something I’ve had to do since applying for SEMINARY! I didn’t even have to share that when I applied for my job at the church. And that question is just one of TEN we have to answer. I am amazed at the hoops people need to jump through to make all of this happen.

I just scanned passport photos trying to save some money where we can. We’ll pick them up at Costco tonight.

The referrals for children have finally started coming from our adoption agency. We’re in a hurry to get our paperwork finalized and sent to Ethiopia. We want one of those referrals ASAP!

    don’t you find it interesting that people have to say whether or not you are financially responsible?? i mean really, we don’t talk to people about our finances. we are responsible but how does anyone really know?!?!?

    i agree. the hoops are insane when all you are trying to do is give a home to a kid that needs it.

    been there. done that. hope to do it again. :o )
